“Developing Package of Practices (PoPs) for commercially important species under the VCSMPP CB&S Project”

2. Project or Description:

 Run by the Quality Council of India, New Delhi and funded by the National Medicinal Plants Board, New Delhi, Under this project two important medicinal plants were domesticated by the Human Institute. The main achievements of the project include –

  • Complete information regarding identification of the Kuth plant, distribution, nursery and production methods in the field, maintenance, harvesting, post-harvest care, quantity of medicinal elements, market etc. was provided in the form of a booklet.


  • Complete information regarding identification of plants of Kapoorkachri, their distribution, nursery and field production system, maintenance, thinning, post-harvest care, quantity of medicinal elements, market etc. is provided in the form of a booklet.


  • Both the above plants were cultivated by the National Organic Plant Board for years and are being used in providing training and subsidies.

 The project was operated in Uttarakhand.

National Medicinal Plants Board, New Delhi and operated by Health Council of India, New Delhi

5. Type of service provided by the applicant:

 The project includes production of two medicinal plants which are being used by National Medicinal Plants Board for providing cultivation technology and subsidy to the farmers.

6. Tenure of service provided by the applicant: 

One year

Commencement- 01 August 2020

Expiry- 31 July 2021
